JAZZ un pianeta di esigenti: Chuck Israels - Joyful Noise

Il bassista arrangiatore compositore Chuck Israels, dopo aver affinato la sua tecnica con maestri come John Coltrane Billie Holiday Stan Getz e il trio di Bill Evans, esce come direttore d'orchestra in questa nuova entusiasmante 'Joyful Noise'.

Israels si è trasferito anni fa dal trambusto della città alla pacifica solitudine della bellissima Portland, in Oregon. Abbraccia gran parte della storia del jazz moderno e la sua 'Chuck Israels Jazz Orchestra' è stata fondata per mostrare alcuni dei migliori strumentisti e cantanti del nord-ovest che suonano e lavorano finemente la musica più emozionante e durevole del pianeta, un pianeta di esigenti.

La band è stata recentemente presentata al Detroit Jazz Festival. Il loro CD di debutto 'Second Wind' ha ricevuto una recensione 4-1/2 (stelle) sulla rivista DownBeat ed è un serio candidato ai Grammy.

Questo nuovo progetto, 'Joyful Noise - The music of Horace Silver' promette di portare l'attenzione alle capacità compositive e magiche di Chuck Israels. Ha la grande saggezza del leader che mette cuore e personalità contagiosa a tutta la band. Israels ha modellato un'orchestra che scorre via liscia su bellissimi binari.

Luther Vandross in musical

A dieci anni dalla sua scomparsa (1º luglio 2005) si è diffusa in America la notizia di un probabile musical sul grande Luther Vandross che vedrebbe anche la partecipazione di Marcus Miller di cui Vandross si è avvalso molto spesso nei suoi album. Si tratterebbe di un progetto itinerante nelle principali città degli Stati Uniti accompagnato da un museo mobile con materiale d'archivio e memorabilia.
Lo spettacolo dovrebbe partire all'inizio del 2016 e sarà il primo di molti eventi previsti nel progetto "Guardians of Soul", la cui missione è quella di preservare e celebrare lasciti e ricordi delle grandi icone di R&B, Soul e Jazz.
